>  Ganzdex: Pioneer 10 Whispers Its Last Breath  launch feature
Lying in bed this morning, I woke up to local radio waves announcing that planet earth had finally lost contact with the Pioneer 10 space probe. "Originally designed for a 21-month mission, Pioneer 10 lasted more than 30 years. It was a workhorse that far exceeded its warranty" said Pioneer 10 Project Manager, Dr. Larry Lasher. As Pioneer 10 coasts silently on its 2 million year voyage to the red star Aldebaran, The Ganzfeld salutes Pioneer 10's valiant service to deep space exploration and hopes that it finds more peace than the planet from where it originated. This feature includes images of Saturn and Jupiter taken by Pioneer 10 and 11 from 1973 to 1974.
